A Rule is a Rule

Today we started practicing how to work in groups by learning and explaining the classroom rules.

Today's AIM: I will recite and categorize the four classroom rules by making a classroom presentation with my group.

Upcoming Quiz Alert: We will have our first quiz of the year on Wednesday on classmate names.

Lesson Steps
We have shown that we have learned the classroom procedures because we now have the Do Now process down!

We divided the class into groups today and read the four rules for the class. Students then worked in teams to explain what our class would look like and sound like if we were following each rule. Finally, students spent time explaining why each rule was important. This process was also an activity to practice how we will work in groups.

Here are the four rules:
Rule #1 We will use names to create a sense of belonging and acceptance
Rule #2 We will take advantage of every minute of class
Rule #3 We will pursue excellence so that we can be proud of our accomplishments
Rule #4 We will work together so that we can learn how to be successful in society

Homework: Continue to review the names of your classmates and bring in your supplies.
