Today we settled into class by continuing to practice our procedures and also we took the first pretest of the year.
AIM: I will demonstrate my knowledge of writing and Social Studies by completing the pretest.
Lesson Steps:
Students took a lengthy pretest which assessed their knowledge on Social Studies concepts for the first advisory as well as writing a well structured paragraph, using a timeline to determine when historical events occurred and also demonstrating basic map skills.
Once students completed the pretest they worked through a procedures scavenger hunt which allowed them to review all of the procedures that we will follow in class.
Homework:
Bring in all supplies and continue to review names for Wednesday's name quiz.

- I have been teaching at Paul Public Charter School for seven years and I love it! I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from American University in 1997 and my Masters in Teaching Social Studies from Brown University in 2002. I also have a certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and I used this training to teach English as a Second Language in DC, New York City and also in Puebla, Mexico.
