So what did we do today?
Today's AIM was: "I will remember 10 classmate names with 100% accuracy."
There is no "He said/She said" in our class because it is very important that all students feel welcome. We played the name game "Globes in the Air" in order to get to know everyone and then we tested ourselves to see if we could name at least 10 names in our class. Tomorrow we will continue to learn new names until everyone knows all names.
We practiced opening and dismissal routines in order to make sure that the class runs smoothly. We read the overview of this year's class and the supply lists for this class (Scroll to the bottom of this entry to see copies of these two handouts). Finally we went over tonight's homework.
Homework
Students are to bring in an image of something that is important to them. This image should fit on an index card. We will use these images to start our vocabulary connections activity. Acceptable examples would include personal photographs, pictures from magazines, logos from bags or labels and hand drawn examples (in color).
