Today we reviewed the mental map and also prepared for tomorrow's quiz.
AIM: I will draw a mental map of the Middle East and Africa and label 17 physical features and define 26 3rd advisory words.
Standard: Geography of Mesopotamia
Do Now:
1) Vocabulary term: To bring together.
2) Vocabulary term: Silt that is very good for growing plants.
3) Vocabulary term: Flat land next to rivers.
4) How many years ago was 1910 CE?
Lesson Steps: Today we reviewed our mental maps by drawing a third mental map. All students should now have three mental maps in their binders. We reviewed the physical features as we drew the third mental map. We then worked in groups reviewing the vocabulary for the third advisory. Students quizzed each other and decided which words to illustrate for homework.
Homework: Illustrate 10 vocabulary words in the box provided and also study for tomorrow's vocabulary quiz.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from American University in 1997 and my Masters in Teaching Social Studies from Brown University in 2002.
