Today we worked on our projects and also finished learning about the text structure of the reading.
AIM: I will identify 2 types of text structures and be ready to present my skit or cartoon.
Standard: Geography of Mesopotamia and Identifying Text Structures
Do Now:
1) Vocabulary term: To deal with a difficulty.
2) Vocabulary term: Movement of water in a certain direction.
3) Vocabulary term: A way of getting somewhere?
4) How many years ago was 1981 CE?
Lesson Steps:
Today we reviewed the text structures of Cause & Effect and also Sequential text structures. We read the text about the geography of Mesopotamia to identify these two structures in our textbook. Students then had the remaining time in class to finish their House Hunters projects.
Homework: Complete House Hunters project and practice for tomorrow's performance.(See Friday's post for the handout that explains the project.)

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from American University in 1997 and my Masters in Teaching Social Studies from Brown University in 2002.
