AIM:I will define and explain the importance of the ice ages and list two legacies of it today.
Standard: 7.1.1 Follow the great changes that formed Earth and allowed human life to start.
Lesson Steps: We started class by going over some logistical items.
1) There will be an extra credit field trip on Saturday, September 27th. We will meet at the Mall-side entrance of the National Museum of Natural History. This field trip will explore the following question: "How did life start on Earth?" We will explore the topics of evolution and review the theories we have learned in class. Permission slips will be available on tomorrow's posting.
2) I introduced the Academic Documentary that we will complete during the course of this school year. Please read over the permission slip below for a better idea of what it is going to include. I am asking you to sign and return the slip at your earliest convenience.

Next we went over the ice ages handout from yesterday and corrected all answers. We completed class with learning the full first verse of the song. Students are to continue to practice it at home to prepare for our first day of filming.
Homework
Complete the drawing of an image that relates to the Big Bang, Continental Drift or Ice Ages and color it. These images will be used as background in our filming of the song. This image should be high quality and in color.
Also, students are to practice the song and bring in the Academic Documentary permission slip.
