Timeline Review

Today we finished going over our timeline activities.

AIM: I will demonstrate mastery on vocabulary word recall and timeline set up with 100% accuracy.

Standard: Plotting dates on a timeline in chronological order.

Do Now:
1) Vocabulary word: To collect crops at the end of the season
2) Vocabulary word: Tool that is used to cut grass and wheat.
3) Vocabulary word: The seed of the grass family.
4) Vocabulary word: A major change- usually social change.

Lesson Steps: After we reviewed the vocabulary we went over tonight's homework in which students must create multiple choice questions for parts of the exam review. We then got out all of our timeline exercise homework assignments and went over how to determine how long ago something happened. We learned the step to figuring out if you must add or subtract dates depending if they are on the same side of zero (subtract) or across the zero (add). [For example: How long ago was 1200 CE? versus how long ago was 1200 BCE? You would simply subtract the first date from 2009 but you would add the second date because it is "across the zero"]
We then ended class with a vocabulary translation exit ticket.

Homework: Create multiple choice questions based on our review guide. To get an extra review guide, go to the posting on January 8th. Here is the explanation of how to do tonight's homework.
