AIM: I will define 4 political words and document the political evolution of Athens to a democracy.
Standard: 7.8.3 Trace the transition from tyranny to oligarchy to early democracy.
We graded our Do Nows.
Lesson Steps: Once all Do Nows were graded we reviewed the concepts of oligarchy, tyranny, monarchy and aristocracy. Students read sections of the text and were given a time limit to act out the meaning of each type of political structure. We then presented our performances to see how each group could bring each word to life. We then took notes on the different types of political structures.
Homework: Complete all missing work before Friday for the end of the advisory.

- I have been teaching at Paul Public Charter School for seven years and I love it! I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from American University in 1997 and my Masters in Teaching Social Studies from Brown University in 2002.
